Rosewood is an educational center located in historic Newtown, Connecticut providing programs for students, educators, and administrators. We are committed to offering online training, support and workshop based programs. Content based and technology based programs are designed for elementary and secondary educators with the objective of being immediately inclusive and easy to use in your classroom setting. Utilization of our programs results in imbedding content based topics and creative strategies for technology use completely in your classroom curriculum. As a center for both non-profit and for profit educational programs, Rosewood will offer programs to impact all sectors of the community.
Our Mission
Rosewood will become a leading provider of high quality programs
for students, educators, and the community. Programs will span
a variety of topics, disciplines, and interests.
We will remove the barriers of distance and time by a prudent use of technology but not remove the personal contact on which our educational philosophy is based.
Rosewood is a concept developed by Sheila and Cosmo Civale, two life-long educators, who believe that teaching and training for educators and the community has progressed far beyond the classroom and the visitation to a conference.
Rosewood was developed with the following
philosophy is mind:
We believe that an educational center as we envision Rosewood
does not exist.
We believe after attending local, state, regional, and national conferences that there is a better way of training and developing people beyond the one day "conference center" approach.
We believe that individuals require an ongoing, available resource for their personal development, support, and research.
We believe that after delivering presentations on current issues and maintaining professional contacts at national conferences, individuals are seeking another type of training that currently does not exist.
We believe that our concept can easily be replicated, with our assistance, at other sites and in other parts of this state and in other states.
We believe that our experience as certified BEST Mentors for the State of Connecticut, provides us with the training to assist teachers in pre-service and in-service programs.
We believe that high quality, on-going programs are critical to the improvement of the quality of teaching in this country.
